Georgetown County First Steps’ (GCFS) mission statement is to collaborate with other entities, while preparing and getting children ready for school and school success. It is our job to support the learning efforts and development of every child, with an understanding that each child is unique with different strengths and weaknesses.
Georgetown County First Steps continues to provide comprehensive services such as PAT- a home visiting program, scholarships for children who attend childcare in Georgetown County, monthly childcare training, and lastly our 3K program- which is helping with the intentional needs of the community by placing children in public school at the age of 3. GCFS is one of only a few 3K programs in the state of South Carolina. Our plan is not only to increase comprehensive services throughout the county in the field of education, but to modify existing ones for better outcomes.
